Bespoke support for innovation and growth
The iNets South West programme provided advice, innovation support, networking opportunities and seed funding to the most promising SMEs in the South West of England, helping them to develop new and improved products, technologies and services.
Designed to assist at a relatively early stage of the innovation pipeline, the programme assisted with both the generation, protection and commercialisation of ideas, and with preparations for sales growth and the exploitation of new markets.
Divided into autonomous projects, each of which focused on a key regional sector, the iNets provided a flexible service that met the needs of individual client businesses, helping them to overcome the specific challenges of their sectors.
The programme was supported by £13 million of funding from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), South West RDA and partner investments. The ERDF funding came to an end in July 2015, but the SME network continues to be supported by the lead iNet partners.
